Planning for Prom is Underway

The LHS prom committee started planning prom on Friday, Jan. 20.

The theme of prom depends on how much money they raise. They have picked a theme but Glenda Beasley, juniors advisor, does not wish to disclose that information yet.

“I think it’s going very well, we’re meeting on Fridays to make further plans,” Beasley said. Students are starting to pay what they didn’t on their magazines because they want to go to prom.

There are around twenty people, mostly girls, who have come to the prom meetings so far.

“It went good, we looked through magazines for themes,” Chelsea Peuser, junior, said. “I just wanted to go and see what it was like.”

They had doughnuts to encourage people to go to the meetings.

“I just came for the social part and for the doughnuts,” Connor Philgreen, junior, said.

On Tuesday, Jan. 31, the post prom chili supper was held, and they had a silent auction. The parents were in charge and it was to raise money to have post prom. They plan on having games, inflatables and prizes.
